Cloise “Richard” Reinhart, 75, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Envive in Berne, Indiana.
He was born on February 6, 1947, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to the late Cloise L. Reinhart and the late Beatrice V. (Patton) Reinhart. Richard was united in marriage to Christine M. Howes on October 26, 1968, in England and she preceded him in death on December 4, 2020.
He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force following his service during the Vietnam War. During his time of service he rose to the rank of Sergeant and served as a Fire Protection Specialist.
He was a member of Decatur Light House Church, VFW Post #6236, and former member of the American Legion Post #43.
Richard was employed at Silberline in Decatur, drove semi-truck for Korte Paper and Goodwill in Fort Wayne. “After retirement” he worked with the Amish Community as a driver and a friend to many of the members.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandra A. (Randy) Andrews of Decatur, Indiana; son, David R. (Michael) Reinhart of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two grandchildren, Jessica (Zach) Rambo, and Derek (Elizabeth Shaw) Andrews; and three great –grandchildren, Hayden & Case Rambo and Trace Andrews.
Richard was preceded in death by a daughter at birth; and his brother and sister-in-law, Raymond (Nancy) Reinhart.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Decatur with military graveside honors being conducted by the American Legion Post #43.
Family and friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.
Preferred memorial can be given to PAWS of Adams County.
