C. William "Bill" Wade

C. William “Bill” Wade, 91, of Grabill, Indiana, and a former resident of New Haven and Ossian, Indiana, passed away on December 7, 2019 at the Towne House Retirement Center, Fort Wayne.

He was born on March 6, 1928 in Van Wert, Ohio, the son of the late Charles Wade and the late Ora (Tomlinson) Wade. Bill was united in marriage to Vivian V. Busch on July 31, 1948 in Celina, Ohio. They celebrated 71 years of marriage this year.

Bill began his work career at Globe Dairy in Van Wert, Ohio and then Pure Sealed Dairy in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He later worked for Cole National Key Corporation for 13 years. After his retirement he drove a school bus for Northern Wells Community Schools for 11 years. He also owned Corner House Antique store in Ossian, Indiana for several years.

Bill was a member of Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a teacher, usher and greeter for many years.

Bill enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and for the past 12 years was lovingly known as the “Birthday Singer” cheerfully calling everyone on the church directory on their birthday and anniversary.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian V. Wade of Grabill, IN; a son, Kenneth (Carolyn) Wade of Fort Wayne, IN and previously from Kenya, Africa where he served as a missionary with WGM; a daughter, Marilyn (Farrel) Habegger of Grabill, IN; sister, Rosalyn Eagle of Butler, PA; brother, Donald (Mary Lou) Wade of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren, Rev. Kenny (Debra) Wade of Nampa, ID, Christopher Wade of Nairobi, Kenya, Jenni (Dr. Scott) Rainey of Overland Park, KS, and Julie (Brad) Zehr of Spencerville, IN; and seven great-grandchildren, Emily, Parker, Braydon Wade; Bekah, Sarah Rainey; Andrew, and Allie Zehr.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank & Maynard Wade and a sister, Juanita Stewart.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday December 11, 2019 at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene located at 8611 Mayhew Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana with Rev. Brady Wisehart and Dr. Rex Person officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ossian, Indiana.

Friends will be received from 2-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
