Carolyn R. Lehman

Carolyn Ruth Lehman, 91, of Ohio City, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Hearth & Home in Van Wert, Ohio.

She was born on November 14, 1933, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Richard D. and Frieda M. (Amstutz) Lewton. Carolyn was united in marriage to William E. Lehman on June 28, 1952, in Decatur, Indiana they were married 72 years before Carolyn’s passing.

She attended the First United Methodist Church in Decatur, most of her life.

Carolyn graduated from Monmouth High School in 1951. She worked for 20 plus years in the office of the Adams County Clerk of Adams Circuit Court, retiring in 1983.

She loved flowers, crocheting, quilting, gardening, dancing, taking pictures, and loved spending time with family.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Lehman of Ohio City, Ohio; son, Douglas K. Lehman of Ellettsville, Indiana; daughter, Pamela (Charles) Metzger of Van Wert, Ohio; brother, Richard Lewton of Goshen, Indiana; three sisters, Mary Lou Brunner , Kathleen (Rex) Strickler, and Geraldine Sudduth all of Decatur, Indiana; two grandchildren, Sonny A. Metzger and Arwen K. Lehman; three great-grandchildren, Anna N. (Derek) Bissonette, Gwenyth Metzger, and Nova Aida Valente; and two great-great-grandchildren, Sutton and Octavia.

Carolyn was preceded in death by sister, Barbara Haynes; brothers-in-law, Larry Brunner Sr. and Gerald Sudduth.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur with Pastor Jerry French officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.

Preferred memorials can be given to Church of God Day Care.
