Carolyn Sue Christener, 79, of Monroe, Indiana passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur.
She was born on November 12, 1942, in Berne, Indiana to the late Omen Amstutz and the late Selma (Hirschy) Amstutz. Carolyn was united in marriage to Robert G. Christener on April 15, 1989, in Adams County, Indiana and he preceded her in death on May 28, 2014.
She graduated from the Decatur High School class of 1960. She went on to attend Fort Wayne Bible College for one year to further her musical education knowledge. Carolyn attended St. Luke Church and was a former member of Decatur Wesleyan Church where she was extremely active. She also gave her talent as an organist too many churches in the area.
Carolyn worked as an Administrative Assistant for Adams County Co-op for 35 ½ years, before her retirement in January 2007. She also worked as an Avon sales representative for 17 years.
Survivors include her son, Scott (Cyndee) Millington of Monroe, Indiana; grandchildren, Grant, Mahima, Edin & Maria Millington; two stepdaughters, Amy Irvin of Decatur, Indiana and Tina Sloan of Tampa, Florida; step-grandchildren, Michael, Drew, and Haley Ripley; brother, Robert L. (Sara) Amstutz of Granada Hills, California; three sisters-in-law, Hannah Amstutz of Berne, Indiana, Jean Amstutz of Flint, Michigan, and Doris Amstutz of Warsaw, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Rev. Paul L. Amstutz, James Amstutz, Edward Amstutz and Richard Amstutz; and two sisters, Doris Amstutz in infancy and Mary Katheryn Brewster.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at St. Luke Church 4960 W. 100 N. Decatur, Indiana with Pastor Mike Wertenberger officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior from 9:00 a.m. till the 10:00 a.m. service on Wednesday at the church.
Preferred memorials can be given to the family (checks payable to Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home).
