Carolee L. Nussbaum

Carolee L. Nussbaum, 85, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, at her residence.

She was born on August 19, 1937, in Dailey, West Virginia to the late Clancy and Ione (Cutright) Loudin.

Carolee was united in marriage to Lawrence “Larry” Roop on October 2, 1956, in Elkins, West Virginia and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2002. On January 9, 2009, Carolee was united in marriage to David W. Nussbaum, and he survives.

She was a member of First Mennonite Church in Berne. Carolee helped with the Preschool and Wednesday night meals at church.

Carolee was a high school graduate from Mill Creek High School in West Virginia. She was employed at Berne Furniture Co., in Berne for 26 years before her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, David W. Nussbaum of Berne, Indiana; two sons, Michael (Sheila) Roop of Decatur, Indiana and Jeff (Sandy) Roop of Geneva, Indiana; daughter, Karen (Tom) Thowsen of Henderson, Nevada; two step-daughters, Nancy Mock and Michelle (Chris) Sealscott both of Berne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Doug (Kayli) Roop, Chelsey (Jordan) Neal, Jeff (Jackie) Roop, Isaac Roop; four great-grandchildren; and 11 step-grandchildren.

Carolee was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Larry Roop; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Roop; granddaughter, Jessica Roop; two brothers, Howard Loudin, and Roscoe Loudin; step-son, Ronald David Nussbaum and step-daughter, Kathy Kuhn.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at First Mennonite Church in Berne with Pastor Jeff Linthicum officiating.

Friends and family will be received from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the church.

Preferred memorials are to Agape Respite Care.
