C. Agatha Roussey, 83, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 28, 2024 at her residence.
She was born on July 14, 1940 in Glenwood, Arkansas, to the late Clyde K. Horn and the late Naomi L. (Jones) Horn. Agatha was united in marriage to Thomas E. Roussey on August 6, 1960, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 2023.
Agatha retired from Kroger’s in Decatur in 2007 following 20 years of service. Tom and Agatha previously owned and operated T&A Service Center in Monroeville.
She took great pride in keeping her home and yard in meticulous order. Tom and Agatha enjoyed going to auctions and sales looking for antiques. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa A. Phillips of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Laura K. (Dean) Muldoon of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Kerry W. Roussey of Greencastle, Indiana; son, Kyle T. (Shawnda) Roussey of Portland, Indiana; sister, Beverly (Steve) Clem of Marshall, Michigan; sister, Brenda (Joel) Hoffman of Monroeville, Indiana; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Dennis) VanHorn of Monroeville, Indiana; ten grandchildren, Sarah Floyd, Adam Haffner, Jacob Phillips, Melissa McDaniel, Marcus Muldoon, Michelle Lare, Matthew Muldoon, Michael Muldoon, Ella Roussey, and Hudson Roussey; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Agatha was preceded in death by a brother, Kenyon Horn; son-in-law, Barry Phillips; two sisters-in-law, Virginia (James) Roy and Mary Ann (Eugene) Wyss, and brother-in-law, Larry (Carolyn) Roussey.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana, with Pastor Ralph Klinker officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Besancon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2024, by Rob Lortie at the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to mom's excellent caregivers, Cynthia, Pam, Patti, Peggy, Crystal, Molly, Tonya and Stillwater Hospice.
Preferred memorials can be given to the Monroeville EMS or Monroeville Fire Department.
