Betty J. Bullerman-Peters, 98, of Hoagland. Indiana passed away Monday, June 6, 2022, at her residence.
She was born on September 3, 1923 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Fred V. and Paula L. (Luelleman) Goeglein.
Betty was united in marriage to her first husband, Edwin W. Bullerman Sr. on May 31, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1976. She was then united in marriage to her second husband, William Peters in March of 1988. He preceded her in death in March of 1988.
Betty graduated from New Haven High School in 1942. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock, where she was on the Altar Guild and Senior Citizens Group. She was in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) and the Lutheran Home Auxiliary. Betty was also involved in the American Legion Post #420 Auxiliary in Monroeville and the Hoagland Area Advancement Association (H.A.A.A.) for 15 years as membership secretary; and Poe Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
She was employed at Tiny Town Market from 2001 and retired in 2014. Prior to that, she worked at Aspy Tires, Fort Wayne Engraving, and Hoosier Wire and Die. Betty and her husband Ed were the previous owners of the Hoagland Hayloft for 17 years.
She enjoyed bowling, reading, gardening, dancing, spending time with her Die Hard Sisters and volunteering. Above all she loved spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Connie J. (Donald) Buckmaster of Hoagland, Indiana; son, Edwin W. (Vicki) Bullerman Jr. of Hoagland, Indiana; son, Richard L. Bullerman of Hoagland, Indiana; son, Thomas J. (Brenda) Bullerman of Hoagland, Indiana; daughter, Lori L. (Michael) Bearman of Grabill, Indiana; step-son, Keith (Kathy) Peters of New Haven, Indiana; step-daughter, Connie Hazelrigg of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Paul (Esther) Goeglein of Woodburn, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Kim Bullerman; step-son, Charles Peters; step-daughter, Jean Smith; and two brothers, Eugene & William Goeglein.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock with Pastor Douglas Christian officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Flatrock.
Friends and family will be received from 1-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock or H.A.A.A..
