Barbara J. Wiegmann, 87, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Thursday evening, July 25, 2019, at Adams Heritage in Monroeville.
She was born on November 26, 1931 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to James and Florence (Strum) Morning. Barb was united in marriage to Walter Wiegmann on February 7, 1948 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2011.
Barb was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble.
She was a faithful assistant to her husband Walter in the operation of Wiegmann Auctioneers for over 60 years. In addition, she also assisted in the operation of the family farm.
Barb was a very sociable lady and lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed her family and being involved in the activities of the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved traveling and exploring the United States and several places in Europe.
She is survived by daughter, Connie Jeffrey of Decatur; son, Ron (Debra) Wiegmann of Decatur; daughter, Bonnie (Steve) Sipe of Fort Wayne; brother, Jim Morning of New Haven; sister, Caroline Martin of New Haven; five grandchildren, Chad Wiegmann, Amanda (Quincy) Murray, Stephanie (Kenneth) Williams, Kevin Jeffrey, and Jared (Sandra) Sipe; ten great-grandchildren, Corbin Wiegmann, Chase Murray, Kiersten Murray, Jocelyn Murray, Jensen Jeffrey, Aiden Jeffrey, Lincoln Sipe, Alexander Sipe, Ashlynn Williams, and Lane Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble with Pastor Andrew Yeager officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery Gardens in Fort Wayne.
Family and friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 5 to7 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble; Wyneken Lutheran School; or SPI School.
