Barbara J. Cabral, 88, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Sunday morning, October 22, 2023, at Golden Years Nursing Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born on June 29, 1935 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Henry and Eileen (Butler) McNeal. Barbara was united in marriage to William Rauch, and he passed away in 1987. She then married Eugene Cabral on July 7, 1990 in Lake Placid, Florida, and he passed away on December 9, 2012.
She was a woman who lived her faith and was a blessing to everyone. She never met a stranger and always tried to help and care for others. She loved music, singing, and played the piano beautifully. Most of all she loved being with her family, friends and family gatherings. Barbara enjoyed card games, bingo, movies, garage sales, home grown tomatoes and chocolate. She was so loved and will be missed by so many!
Barbara is survived by son, David (Lorna) Rauch of Greensburg, Kentucky; son, Kenneth (Janet) Rauch of Coldwater, Michigan; daughter, Angela (Mark) Thompson of New Haven, Indiana; son, Richard (Kathy) Rauch of Decatur, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Kim Rauch of Fishers, Indiana; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Jane Holkestad and her many friends at Golden Years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Rauch and her second husband, Gene Cabral; a son, Joseph Rauch; her sister, Marlene Amstutz; brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Sharon) McNeal.
Private graveside services will be held by the family at a later.
The family would like to thank Golden Years staff, doctors and nurses, along with the Parkview Hospice Team, the Optum team and Zwick & Jahn Funeral for their love, care and compassion.
