Annie L. Weiland, 74, of Monroe, Indiana passed away Tuesday evening, April 30, 2019, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
She was born on April 30, 1945 in Berne, Indiana to Luther Jay and Dortha Inez (Strickler) Singleton. Annie married Lynford A. Weiland on August 1, 1964 at the Decatur Church of God.
She attended The Bridge Community Church in Decatur. Annie was the Adams Central Band Color Guard coach for many years and also the cheer coach for Adams Central Middle School. She also gave baton lessons. She taught Bible Mountaineers at Decatur Church of God for many years.
Annie was a 1963 graduate of Adams Central High School. She had worked at General Electric in Decatur and was a reading aide at Adams Central. She retired from Park Center in Decatur and Bluffton.
Annie loved baton twirling, playing tennis, and spending time at the beach in Florida. Her family and grandchildren were important to her and she loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her husband, Lynford Weiland of Monroe, IN; two daughters, Lyné Weiland of Monroe, IN and Nicole (Edward) Scott of Auburndale, FL; son, Lyndsey (Candace) Weiland of Greencastle, IN; two sisters, Phyllis Plothe of Decatur, IN and Kay Hartnett of Weiser, ID; and ten grandchildren, Natasha and Austin Weiland, Nicolas and Ella Lou Scott, and Noah, Hannah, Sam, Andrew, Sophia, and Evie Weiland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gordon Singleton.
Annie's Celebration of Life will be June 19th at the 4-H Dining Hall in Monroe, IN. Her great nephew will lead a service starting at 6pm and we will follow with stories and fellowship. If you feel led to share a story, come and share! We want to celebrate and honor her wonderful life.
Memorials may be given to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
