William C. Foye, 96, a resident of Berne, Indiana passed away at 2:25 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne.

William was born on May 31, 1914 in Chelsea, Massachusetts the son of Harold H. and Lillian (Foley) Foye, both deceased. He married Winifred Froburg on April, 19, 1941 and she survives.

William graduated from Reading High School in Massachusetts in 1932 and Burdett Business College in Boston, Massachusetts with an accounting degree. He was the office manager for Burlington Industries Division in Reading, Massachusetts. William was a member of the Church of the Open Bible in Burlington, Massachusetts and served as a Sunday School Teacher, church deacon, church trustee, and was the chairman of the church building fund. In 1972, he moved to Palm Coast, Florida where he was a charter member of the First Baptist Church and upon relocating to Berne in 2005, William became a member of the First Mennonite Church. He also enjoyed woodworking.

William is survived by his wife, Winifred Foye of Berne; a daughter, Milly (Byron) Fox of Berne; a daughter, Jane (Gene) Franks of Springdale, Arkansas; and a sister, Marjorie Jeanes of North Reading, Massachusetts. Other survivors include grandchildren, Sara (Mark) Woods of Flagler Beach, Florida; Ben (Dianna) Fox of Berne; Andy (Jesica) Fox of Zionsville, Indiana; Joe (Jackie) Fox of Mooresville, Indiana; two great-grandsons, Calvin Fox and Grant Fox; and several nieces and nephews from the New England area.

William was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Foye.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the First Mennonite Church with the Pastor Jerry Flueckiger officiating. Interment will be in the M.R.E. Cemetery of rural Berne.

Family and friends will be received from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne and one hour prior to the funeral service at the First Mennonite Church on Tuesday.

Preferred memorials are to the First Mennonite Church Building Fund.
