Kathryn L. Roy, 85 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 11:05 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2008 at her residence, following an illness of Parkinson's Disease since 1992. Kathryn was born on Wednesday, July 5, 1922 in Harlan, Indiana the daughter of the late Joseph Amstutz and the late Rose (Klopfenstein) Amstutz. She married the late Robert A. Roy on July 5, 1945 in the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church and he passed away on July 19, 1980. Kathryn was a member of the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana; the Do Better Home Economics Club; and was a graduate of the Harlan High School Class of 1940. Kathryn was also a homemaker. Surviving are a son, Gregory A. (Cara M.) Roy of Monroeville, Indiana, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Preceding Kathryn in death were one son, Scott R. Roy in 2002 and two brothers, Deloy and Maynard Amstutz. Prayer Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana with Father Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are Masses to the Church or Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
