Daniel Alan Shoaf, 59 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2012 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Fort Wayne, Indiana after suffering a stroke Sunday at his residence. Dan was born on Sunday, June 29, 1952 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Earl Shoaf and the late Harriet (Voglewede-Gilson) Shoaf. He married Danene K. Thieme on October 27, 1974 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Decatur and she survives. Dan was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Decatur; formerly a member at Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur. Dan was employed by Manpower Temp Service; he was working for the Eaton Company in Van Wert, Ohio; he was formerly employed by Wells Fargo in Ft. Wayne and Corning Glass in Bluffton. Surviving are his wife, Danene K. Shoaf of Decatur, IN; daughter, Diana S. Loshe of Decatur, IN; son, Darin E. Shoaf of Decatur, IN; son, Devin L. Shoaf of Decatur, IN; son, Derek A. Shoaf of Decatur, IN; sister, Donna Shoaf of Decatur, IN; sister, Linda (Derryl) Grote of Decatur, IN; four grandchildren: Kayla, Madison, Dylan, and Leviticus. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor David Koeneman officiating. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Preferred memorials are to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Adams County Community Foundation-Heart Fund.
