Dora S. Fleming, 97 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 5:27 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2011 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur. Dora was born on Sunday, May 24, 1914 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Ernest Doehrman and the late Minnie (Fuhrman) Doehrman. She married the late Lee K. Fleming on November 5, 1932 in Richmond, Indiana and he passed away in 2002. Dora was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur. She was a former active member of the Hope Lutheran Church in El Jobean, Florida where she lived until moving back to Decatur in 2002. Dora was a homemaker and had worked at International Harvester during World War II. Following the war, she worked at the Office of Equal Opportunity Employers in Decatur for several years. During this time she also was the Washington Township Deputy Assessor for 9 years. Later, she was named woman of the year by the Decatur Business and Professional Women's Club. While also in Decatur, she volunteered for Canteen Chairman American Red Cross for 11 years. After moving to Florida with her husband, she volunteered over 15 years at Cultural Center in Port Charlotte, Florida. Surviving are her son, Allen L. Fleming of Grove City, FL; son, James W. (Carol) Fleming of Angola, IN; daughter, Kathleen (Paul) Bergdall of Hoagland, IN; 8 grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren. Preceding Dora in death were 5 brothers, Arnie Doehrman, Art Doehrman, Rudy Doehrman, Gary Doehrman, and Ralph Doehrman; 4 sisters, Erma Bultemeier, Martha Wiegman, Luella Guy, Hilda Bauermeister. Following Dora' request, there will be no services and burial will take place at Decatur Cemetery at a later date. Preferred memorials are to Worship For Shut-Ins or Zion Lutheran Church-Decatur.
