Ronald A. Wyss, 79 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 7:54 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2006 in the Village of Heritage located in Monreoville, Indiana, where he had been a resident since October 2003. He had been ill for the past 4 years. Ron was born on January 31, 1927 in Allen County, Indiana, the son of the late Albert A. Wyss and the late Monica T. (Harkenrider) Wyss. He married Alice R. Crabill on November 27, 1948 in the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana. They had just celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary last November. Alice survives. Ron was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville, Indiana, where he was a Mass commentator from 1964 to 1993; a former member of the Knights of Columbus; American Legion Post #420 and VFW #10205. Ron served his country during World War II in the Merchant Marines. Ron retired in 1991 as a group leader in manufacturing from Kunkle Valve Company in Ft. Wayne, Indiana after 32 years of services. Surviving are his wife, Alice R. Wyss of Monroeville, Indiana, daughter, Susan M. Wyss of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, daughter, Monica B. Corpus of Mays Landing, New Jersey, daughter, Mrs. Duane (Roselyn M.) Doctor of Monroeville, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Darrel (Andrea M.) Scheumann of Decatur, Indiana, son, Philip A. (Jennifer) Wyss of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. James (Jane M.) Corkery of Madison, Wisconsin, daughter, Mrs. Vito (Nancy C.) Coletto of Chicago, Illinois, daughter, Mrs. Marc (Christine A.) Lechleitner of Hoagland, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Robert (Rita) Wicoff of Danville, Indiana, brother, Clifford Wyss of Coldwater, Michigan, sister, Mrs. Carl (Theresa) Sorg of Monroeville, Indiana, brother, Maurice Wyss of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Richard (Evelyn) Beam of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Donald (Lourine) Brososky of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Martin (Lurana) Travis of Belle Vista, Arizona, brother, Mar J. Wyss of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, brother, Gerard J. Wyss of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, brother, Linden J. Wyss of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, nineteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Ronald was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Wyss; one sister, Jane Jackson, and three infant grandchildren. A 9:30 a.m. Prayer Service will be held Thursday, March 9, 2006 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville, Indiana with the Father Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery. Friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. Preferred memorials are Masses to the church; Monroeville EMS; or Tuition Assistance at St. Joseph School.
