Roger L. Kelsey, 73 years old of Monroe, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, June 22, 1938 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late Clair Kelsey and the late Mildred (Miller) Kelsey. He married Glenna J. Bladen on April 26, 1975. Roger served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. He was a member of the Salem Community Church, the American Legion Post #43, and the NRA. He worked at Decatur Industries for over thirty years and then retired in June of 2000 from Rutherford Woodworking. Surviving are his wife, Glenna J. Kelsey of Monroe; son, Jason (Darlene) Johnson of Pleasant Mills; daughter, Donna S. (Jeff) Hurt of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Karen (Bryan) Keefer of Goshen; sister, Mary Ann (Roger) Snyder of Monroe; and two grandchildren, Kaitlyn & Kassidy Johnson. Preceding Roger in death was a brother, Herman Kelsey. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Compton officiating. Interment will follow in the Tricker Cemetery in Monroe, Indiana with Military Graveside Honors to be conducted by the American Legion Post #43 Color Guard. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 20 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Salem Community Church or Family LifeCare.
