Ruth M. Edwards, 98 years old of Monroe, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2007 in the Adams Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on Wednesday, March 31, 1909 in Mercer County, Ohio the daughter of the late Frederick Schott and the late Whilhelmia (Emerick) Schott. She was married to the late Gerald C. Edwards and he passed away on March 4, 1995. Ruth attended the Salem Community Church and had worked at the Marathon Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio for 13 years. She was a loving homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are her son, Lee (Pauline) Edwards of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Don (Shirley) Horner of Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter, Kay Bohnke of Monroe, Indiana, brother, Paul Schott of New Bremen, Ohio, brother, Dale Schott of Fort Wayne, Indiana, brother, Alfred Schott of Rockford, Ohio, sister, Irene Herron of St. Henry, Ohio, ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren. Preceding Ruth in death were one grandson, Willmott Bohnke, four brothers, L. Glen, Ralph, Clarence & Ray Schott and two sisters, Leah Smith and Anna Lee Schlechte. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2007 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Rev. James Compton officiating. Interment will follow in the Willshire Cemetery, Willshire, Ohio. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 22 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Salem Community Church or the Monroe Fire Department.
