L. Irene Grabner, 78 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana following an illness of five months. She was born on Sunday, March 6, 1927 in Waynedale, Indiana the daughter of the late Charles H. Hartman and the late Erma M. (Sickafus) Hartman. She married Charles B. "Chuck" Grabner on July 3, 1947. Irene was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, New Haven, Indiana and was a homemaker. She was also employed at East Allen County Schools from 1964 to 1974. Surviving are her husband, Charles B. "Chuck" Grabner of Monroeville, Indiana, son, Mike (Pam) Grabner of Monroeville, Indiana, brother, Charles J. Hartman of Monroeville, Indiana, brother, Robert J. Hartman of Monroeville, Indiana, sister, Susan Green of Easley, North Carolina, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Preceding LaVonna in death was one son, Terry Lee Grabner, in 1979. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Rev. Dave Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 3 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to St. James Lutheran Church, Monroeville Fire Department or Monroeville EMS.
