Jolene Joy Heyerly, 62 years old and a longtime resident of Decatur, Indiana, met her heavenly Father on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at her residence. She was born on Saturday, October 15, 1949 in Wells County, Indiana the daughter of the late Bernarr 'Red' Biddle and the late Mary (Meyer) Biddle. She married David A. Heyerly on June 16, 1968 in the Assembly of God Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jolene was an active member of the Decatur Church of God where she served as a member of the Assimilation Team. She was also a member of the General Electric Quarter Century Club and was a member of the first graduating class at Norwell High School in 1968. Jolene retired December 1, 2011 as an executive assistant from General Electric with forty-two years of service. She was also employed at Concordia Theological Seminary in the early 1990's. Surviving are her husband, David A. Heyerly of Decatur, Indiana; son, Mark (Angela) Heyerly of Russell, Kentucky; grandson, Jacob C. Heyerly of Russell, Kentucky; and brother, Thomas (Pam) Biddle of Big Long Lake, Indiana. Jolene was a loving wife, mother & grandmother. She was a wonderful homemaker & enjoyed many hobbies including arranging flowers, making jewelry and kite flying. A Celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in the Decatur Church of God with Dr. Robert Brink & Pastor Sandy Hildebrand officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 19 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Preferred memorials are to Family Aid Fund through the Decatur Church of God or the Faith Promise Fund through the Decatur Church of God.
