Eileen E. Sloan, 82 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 2:51 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2012 in the Parkview Hospital located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Eileen was born on Thursday, October 10, 1929 in Monroeville, Indiana the daughter of the late Grover C. Grabner and the late Leona G. (Leonard) Grabner. Her first husband was Lloyd Westerlund and her second husband was Edward Sloan, both of whom are deceased. Eileen was a graduate of Monroeville High School Class of 1947. She was baptized in the Monroeville United Methodist Church in 2003. She was a life member and former president of AMVETS Auxiliary in Aurora, Illinois; former president of the Aurora AMVETS Auxiliary Northern Illinois Conference; and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary United #420. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Eileen retired in 1994 after 31 years of employment in Aurora, Illinois, where she had worked for several places in cluding Vendo Mfg. and Quailifed Industries. Surviving are her daughter, Karlene A. (Westerlund) (Alfred) Fial of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister, Audrey V. Swanson of Duluth, MN; brother, Donald D. Grabner of Monroeville, IN; brother, Dale K. Grabner of Monroeville, IN; brother, Lindy L. (Imogene) Grabner of Monroeville, IN; brother, Loren R. (Colleen) Grabner of Monroeville, IN; sister, Sharon Sue (Richard) Darras of Monroeville, IN; sister-in-law, Audrey M. Grabner of Roanoke, IN; grandson, Geoffrey T. Fial of Ft. Wayne, IN; granddaughter, Alissa V. Fial of Omaha, NE; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Eileen in death were two brothers, Arnold and Charles "Dick" Grabner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Kathleen W. Haller officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery, Monroeville, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
