Alice E. Gerardot, 63 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2008 in the Convoy Care Center following a fourteen-month illness from cancer. She was born on Tuesday, May 2, 1944 in Van Wert County, Ohio the daughter of Donald & Carrie Dawson. She married Daniel L. Gerardot on July 11, 1963. Alice was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville, Indiana and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed bright sunny days, her flower gardens and listening to old country music, especially Boxcar Willie. She recently fulfilled a life-long dream of visiting the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Her family enjoyed her sense of humor and her caring nature. She was a loving wife, mother of eight and grandmother of twenty-one. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are her husband, Daniel L. Gerardot of Monroeville, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Charles (Jacqueline) Miller of Decatur, Indiana, son, Christopher (Amy) Gerardot of Convoy, Ohio, son, Chip (Tonya) Gerardot of New Haven, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Carlo (Theresa) Renninger of Monroeville, Indiana, son, Scott (Jill) Gerardot of Convoy, Ohio, daughter, Bobbi Gerardot of Melbourne, Florida, son, Jesse Gerardot of Monroeville, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Steven (Anndrea) Marcks of Pikeville, North Carolina, mother, Carrie Dawson of Convoy, Ohio, brother, Wayne (Linda)Dawson of Convoy, Ohio, brother, Donald (Barbara) Dawson Jr. of Van Wert, Ohio, brother, Herbert (Jackie) Dawson of Van Wert, Ohio, brother, Robert (Janet) Dawson of Van Wert, Ohio, mother-in-law, Hazel Gerardot of Decatur, Indiana and twenty grandchildren; Eric, Bryan, Monica, Corey, John, Samantha, Luke, Logan, Emily, Danielle, Tucker, Brady, Even, Erica, Audrey, Amanda, Ross, Rex, Cody and Amber. Preceding Alice in death were her father, Donald Dawson, one grandson, Jacob Wasson and her father-in-law, Lawrence Gerardot. A prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Rose Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville, Indiana. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana. There will be a Rosary held at 8:00 p.m. following visitation in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to St. Joseph Home & School Association, Monroeville, Monroeville EMS or Monroeville Fire Department.
