Arnold N. Weidler, 82 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2006 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Ft. Wayne, Indiana; he had been in failing health the past year. Arnold was born on December 13, 1923 in Adams County, Indiana, the son of the late Fred C. Weidler and the late Viola S. (Tewers) Weidler. He married his first wife, Billye Chandler on December 16, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and she passed away on February 8, 1984; he married his second wife, Marjorie L. Withrow on November 19, 1988 in Vera Cruz, Indiana and she survives. Arnold was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Vera Cruz, Indiana; a graduate of Kirkland High School Class of 1942; and attended an Air Craft Trade School in Chicago. Arnold retired from Phelps-Dodge in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on January 1, 1986 after 30 years and 4 months of service. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Weidler of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. James (Nancy C.) Brown of New Haven, Indiana, son, Dan E. (Debbie) Weidler of Ventura, California, son, James A. (Catherine) Weidler of Kokomo, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Wes (Arlene J.) Kuntzman of Monroe, Indiana, daughter, Tami L. Seem of Wapakoneta, Ohio, twin-brother, Wilfred J. Weidler of Haines City, Florida, twin-brother, Paul H. Weidler of Haines City, Florida, brother, Rudolph C. Weidler of Clinton, Maryland, sister, Anna Laura Hirschy of Berne, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Stan (Mary Emma) Lyons of Upland, Indiana, brother, Donald F. Weidler of Decatur, Indiana, step-son, Al Withrow of Berrien Springs, Michigan, step-daughter, Mrs. Ron (Nancy M.) Smith of Ogden, Utah, seventeen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Arnold was preceded in death by one sister, Leona A. Stanley. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Pulling officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana; and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Preferred memorials are to St. John's United Church of Christ.
