Mary L. Bechtol, 88 years old of Naples, Florida, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2006 in North Collier Hospital in Naples. She was born on Tuesday, July 10, 1917 in Decatur, Indiana the daughter of the late Jess Hurst and the late Matilda M. (Walker) Hurst. She married Cyril Bechtol on September 19, 1937 and he died July 21, 1978. Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church in Van Wert, Ohio and in Naples, Florida. She was a homemaker and worked at National Seal in Van Wert, Ohio for 20 years. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Kay Bechtol of Naples, Florida, sister-in-law, Jean Hurst of Tallahassee, Florida, nephew, Richard (Ruth) Hurst of Decatur, Indiana, nephew, Arthur (Dottie)Hurst, Jr. of Fort Wayne, Indiana, niece, Mrs. (Glen) Donnabelle Geyer of Decatur, Indiana, niece, Mrs. George (Barbara) Geyer of Decatur, Indiana, nephew, Carl "Gene" (Shirley)Hurst of Decatur, Indiana, nephew, Robert (Dixie) Hurst of Pleasant Mills, Indiana, nephew, Ronald Hurst of Decatur, Indiana, nephew, Jerry (Carman)Hurst of Decatur, Indiana, nephew, Tom Hurst of Decatur, Indiana, niece, Mrs. Noelan (Patricia) Salway of Monroeville, Indiana, niece, Jackie Morgan of Decatur, Indiana, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Preceding Mary in death were one son, Rodger Bechtol on May 20, 1991; four brothers, Arthur, Vernon, Carl & Ralph Hurst; and one sister, Jessie Irene Hurst. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Lovelace officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, Ohio. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 17 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to American Lung Association, Florida Chapter.
