Mary L. Axson, 85 years old of Monroeville, Indiana passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 in the Golden Years Homestead located in Fort Wayne. She was born on Tuesday, February 5, 1924 in Continental, Ohio the daughter of the late John Scott and the late Pauline (Range) Scott. She married Edward F. Axson on November 25, 1943 and he passed away on June 14, 1992. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and sewing. Surviving are her son, John E. (Carolyn) Axson of Monroeville, son, Joey E. Axson of Fort Wayne, five brothers; Robert, Fred, & Harold Scott all of Continental, Ohio, Darrold Scott of Paulding, Ohio and Tom Scott of Payne, Ohio, one sister, Flossie Chapman of Spencerville, Ohio, two grandchildren; John E. Axson & Cassandra Foust and three great-grandchildren; Daniel & Morgan Foust and Connor Axson. Preceding Mary in death were seven sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville. Preferred memorials are to Alzheimer's Association of Greater Indiana.
