Elizabeth Ericka Lichtensteiger, six years old of Ohio City, Ohio, passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009 in the Van Wert County Hospital Emergency Room located in Van Wert, Ohio. She was born on September 11, 2002 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana the daughter of Larry Lichtensteiger and Michelle (Merkle) Hill, and they survive. Elizabeth had just graduated from Kindergarten at Crestview Elementary in Convoy, Ohio. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm. Surviving are her father, Larry Lichtensteiger of Ohio City, Ohio; mother, Michelle Hill of Monroeville, Indiana; and maternal grandparents, Patricia (Terry) Post of Wren, Ohio. Preceding Elizabeth in death were paternal grandparents, Frederick & Patricia Lichtensteiger; and her maternal grandfather, Eugene Merkle. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schumm, with Pastor Jeff Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Schumm, Ohio. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church, Schumm; Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis; or the Wren Community Chest.
