James W. McDougall, 70 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at his residence following a brief illness. Jim was born on Sunday, March 31, 1940 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Charles McDougall and the late Dorothy (Hunt) McDougall. He married Carol Jacquay on April 10, 1960 in Ossian, Indiana and she survives. Jim was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Bull Rapids - Woodburn and the United Auto Workers Local #402. Jim retired from Navistar after 45 years in quality control; was a self-employed owner of Windswept Arabians; and also was owner/operator of Log Home Specialists. Among his many talents, Jim enjoyed creating oil paintings, many of which are held by his family. Surviving are his wife, Carol McDougall of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Cris (Jeff) Koenemann of Plymouth, Indiana; daughter, Cheri (Rick) Hazelett of Woodburn, Indiana; sister, Sandy (Jim) Wright of Huntington, Indiana; sister, Kathy Kumfer of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; brother, Lynn (Anna) McDougall of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren: Tyler Koenemann, Tonya Koenemann, Chelsey Hazelett, and Caleb Hazelett. Preceding Jim in death were one daughter, Tonya McDougall; one son, Timothy McDougall; and three brothers, Ramond, Charles, and Jerry McDougall. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana with Pastor Joe Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bingen, in Decatur, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Family Hospice & Palliative Care, Berne, Indiana.
