Harvey Carl Hileman, 96 years old of Willshire, Ohio, passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012 in the Van Wert Inpatient & Hospice located in Van Wert, Ohio. Harvey was born on Wednesday, April 14, 1915 in Willshire, Ohio the son of the late Elias A. Hileman and the late Eliza D. (Bilderback) Hileman. He married the late Mary E. Lautzenheiser on September 14, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio and she passed away on January 30, 1989. Harvey was a member of the Union United Methodist Church of Willshire; a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge #1311 in Decatur; and the Sportsman Club in Willshire; and the Willshire Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a graduate of Willshire High School Class of 1936. Harvey retired in 1976 from General Electric Corporation in Decatur, Indiana after 34 1/2 years of service. Surviving are his daughter, Karen (David) Freeman of Van Wert, Ohio; daughter, Helen (James) Hawkins of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Dayle (Albert) Alspaugh of Rockford, Ohio; daughter, Deb Thomas of South Charleston, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Shirley Hileman of Farmington, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Harvey in death were one son, Donald H. Hileman on April 8, 1998; one grandson, Chad B. Alspaugh on October 1, 2005; four brothers, Isaac, DeLoyd, John, and Joe Hileman; five sisters, Florence Stevens, Dora Casad, Eva Sadler, Hattie Hileman and Gracie Hileman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Bud Larimore officiating. Interment will follow in the Willshire Cemetery. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2012 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. A Moose Lodge Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Wren EMS or Union United Methodist Church or Community Health Professional Hospice in Van Wert, Ohio.
