David L. Myers, 83 years old of Convoy, Ohio, passed away at 4:52 p.m. on Friday, December 25, 2009 in the Convoy Care Center located in Convoy, Ohio. David was born on Saturday, October 9, 1926 in Van Wert, Ohio the son of the late Alfred Myers and the late Opal (Dudley) Myers. He married Betty J. Adelblue on July 21, 1945 in Lawton, Oklahoma and she passed away on December 18, 1998. David was a member of the Ohio Firefighters Association. He was a graduate of Wren High School in Wren, Ohio and enjoyed fishing. David was Chief of Arson Bureau, Court Baliff, Adult Probation Officer, and Presence Investigator for Van Wert County, Ohio and retired in 1990. He also served as Fire Chief for Wren, Ohio. David served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Surviving are his son, Neil L. Myers of Ohio City, Ohio; sister, Martha Myers of Wren, Ohio; four grandchildren: Jason (Jami) Suman; Elisha (Cody) Rucklos; Neil Lee (Sarah) Myers Jr.; and Jennifer Myers. He also is survived by three great-grandchildren: Melissa Paige Suman; Caleb Lee Myers, and Sam Schultz. Preceding David in death was one brother, Arno Myers. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Mt Tabor Cemetery in rural Decatur, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to Wren Fire Dept.
