Betty Lee Roe, 82 years old of rural Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 5:50 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2012 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Betty was born on Wednesday, June 26, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late Raymond M. Fickert and the late Arberdeen (Snyder) Fickert. She married the late Ernest Roe on September 28, 1957 in Ohio City, Ohio and he passed away on January 5, 2011. Betty was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and WELCA in Ohio City, Ohio. Betty was homemaker and had worked for thirteen years at Central Insurance Company. Surviving are her son, Randall E. (Kim) Roe of Decatur, Indiana brother, LeRoy M. Fickert of Ohio City, Ohio; three grandchildren: Logan, Parker, and Mallorie Roe all at home. Preceding Betty in death was one sister, Wilma Feasel. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2012 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ohio City, Ohio with Rev. Denise Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Backesto/Spring Hill Cemetery in rural Monroe, Indiana. Friends will be received from 12:00 NOON to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Preferred memorials are to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church; MDA; or Adams Central Squadron of Sound.
