Raymond L. Brown, 67 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at his residence following and illness of 2 months. Raymond was born on Monday, August 3, 1942 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Herman D. Brown and the late Eva C. (Kreischer) Brown. He married Patricia M. Coyne on September 8, 1962 in St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana and she survives. Ray was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville and a member of the morning coffee club at the Kickin Chickin in Monroeville. He loved and cared for animals and nature. Ray retired from Navistar Corporation in Springfield, Ohio in 1992 as a Spot Welder after 30 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Patricia M. (Coyne) Brown of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Annette L. (Buddy) Gilbert of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Cynthia S. (Tim) Dikty of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; son, Randy L. (Sandy King companion) Brown of Decatur, Indiana; son, Roger L. (Bernice Harrison fiance) Brown of Kendallville, Indiana; son, Robert L. (April) Brown of Kendallville, Indiana; daughter, Mariam K. (Randy) Green, of Utah; brother, Dale Brown; brother, Pete Brown; brother, Daniel Brown; sister, Ilo Meyers; sister, Iris Hendricks; sister, Connie Martin; eight grandchildren: Cassie Becher, Matthew Gilbert, Sara Gilbert, Andrew Brown, Kaitlin Green, Avery Green, Lilly King, Hunter Brown; and three great-grandchildren: Jackson & Maverick Becher; and Brynn Gilbert. Preceding Raymond in death were 5 brothers, Donald, Max, Marvin, Ronald, Larady Brown; and 1 granddaughter, Rachael Renee Hirschy. A 9:20 a.m. Prayer Service will be held Monday, July 19, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Rose Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Decatur, Indiana Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacbos Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. Preferred memorials are donations of dog food or the S.P.C.A.
