G. Frederick Dellinger, 94 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010 in the Adams Memorial Hospital. He was born on Sunday, July 2, 1916 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late Frank Dellinger and the late Pearl (Everett) Dellinger. He married Marietta Meyer on January 18, 1936 and she passed away on March 11, 2002. Fred was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge #1311, General Electric Quarter Century Club and a former member of the Adams County Horseshoe League. He retired with thirty-five years of service from General Electric in Decatur where he also served as a union official. Surviving are his daughter, Marlene (Don) Melching of Decatur, son, Richard "Steve" (Nancy) Dellinger of Hillard, Ohio, son, Herman "Lynn" (Pat) Dellinger of Edon, Ohio, daughter, Carol Clouse of Fremont, daughter-in-law, Mary Helen Dellinger of Columbia City, sister, Vivian (Doyt) Bryan of Decatur, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, ten great great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Preceding Fred in death were one son, Frederick A. Dellinger and three brothers, Melvin, L. Alfred & Orville Dellinger and one sister, Bernice Craig. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Rev. Loren Felabom officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from noon to 3 p.m. & 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, October 24 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur with a Moose Memorial Service to be held at 6:00 p.m. following visitation. Preferred memorials are to Adams County Community Foundation - Cancer Fund, Decatur Lion's Club or the donor's choice.
