Bobby R. Killen, Sr., 76 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center. He was born on Monday, March 16, 1936 in Pound, Virginia the son of the late Wesley Killen and the late Bertha (Vanover) Killen. He married Betsy Smith on March 18, 1972 in Jenkins, Kentucky. Bobby formerly attended the Common Ground Church in Decatur. He enjoyed classic and antique cars. He was employed by the Penn Central Railroad as a conductor prior to starting Killen Well Drilling in Adams County, which operated for fifty years. Surviving are his wife, Betsy Killen of Decatur; daughter, Patricia (Barry) Peterson of Fort Wayne; son, Bobby (Diana) Killen, Jr. of Texas; daughter, Elana (Gary) Serres of Columbia City; daughter, Patsy (Walter) Hobbs of Fort Wayne; son, Tony (Monika) Killen of Schweinfurt, Germany; son, Bill (Angie) Killen of Fort Wayne; daughter, Beth (Wayne) Wolf of Monroe; sister, Shirley (Earle) Futrell of Clarksville, Tennessee; sister, Barb (Don) Randall, of Arizona; sister, Donna Sue (Marvin) Mead of Avon, Indiana; twenty-four grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in the Bridge Community Church with Pastor Mo Hodge & Brother Gene Branscomb officiating. Interment will follow in the Stahl Cemetery in rural Petroleum, Indiana. Friends will be received from 1 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 27 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to American Kidney Foundation or Family LifeCare.
