Helen P. Buchanan, 69 years old of Willshire, Ohio passed away at 5:39 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2011 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur, Indiana. Helen was born on Tuesday, February 3, 1942 in Hyden, Kentucky the daughter of the late Buck Van Over and the late Mary Ann (Sheppard) Van Over. She married J. Alvin Buchanan on April 23, 1971 in the Southside Church of Christ in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and he survives. Helen was a member of the Ft. Recovery Church of Christ. Helen was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, J. Alvin Buchanan of Willshire, Ohio; daughter, Lynette Hirschy of Mendon, Ohio; daughter, Louise Buchanan of Willshire, Ohio; sister, Bess Wilson of Warren, Indiana; brother, Kash Van Over of Petroleum, Indiana; sister, Kay Enterline of Fiat, Indiana; three grandchildren: Sillena Hirschy, Ellicia Hirschy, Lauren Buchanan; and two great-grandchildren: Paige Hirschy and Braxton Hirschy. Preceding Helen in death were one daughter, Lori Ann Buchanan; two brothers, Curtis Van Over, and Darnell Van Over. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Gamble officiating. Interment will follow in the Willshire Cemetery, Willshire, Ohio. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to Ft. Recovery Church of Christ.
