Alice Leona Coop, 92 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010 in the Village of Heritage located in Monroeville, Indiana. She was born on Monday, December 31, 1917 in Kokomo, Indiana the daughter of the late Alfred Short and the late Olive (Schultz) Short. She married the late Joseph A. Coop on November 25, 1949 in Kokomo, Indiana and he passed away on July 12, 1995. Alice was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur, Indiana.. She was Alice worked as a waitress at Andy's in Chicago, Illinois. Surviving are her daughter, Michelle (Tom) Howe of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; son, Michael (Rose) Coop of Ft. Wayne, Indaina; seven grandchildren, Thomas Howe Jr.; Anthony R. Howe; Michael Coop Jr.; Teresa Coop; Tina Weber; Tanya Licovvich; Tammy Earling; and three great-grandchildren. Preceding Alice in death was one son, Timothy R. Coop on September 27, 2000. Private Graveside services were held Monday, January 11, 2010 in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to the family.
