Vincent R. Wurm, 84 years old of Decatur, Indiana; and a former resident of rural Monroeville, Indiana for many years, passed away at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2006 in the Village of Heritage located in Monroeville, Indiana. Vincent was born on September 1, 1921 in Payne, Ohio, the son of the late Victor Wurm and the late Martha (Doctor) Wurm. He married Gail Joan Gable on December 19, 1942 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and she survives. They had celebrated 63 years of marriage last December. Vincent was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Monroeville, Indiana; a former member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Angola, Indiana; associate member of Christ Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg, Florida; a member of the Angola Health Club; Bally's Fitness Center in St. Petersburg, Florida; and a member of the Moose Lodge in Angola, Indiana. Vincent enjoyed boating, water skiing, and coin collecting. Vincent was a machinist at Fruehauf Corporation (Trailer Mfg.) in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, retiring in 1981 after 39 1/2 years of service and he was also engaged in farming. Surviving are his wife, Gail Joan (Gable) Wurm of Decatur, Indiana, son, Bernard "Ben" (Linda) Wurm of Decatur, Indiana, son, Stanley W. (Peggy) Wurm of St. Petersburg, Florida, son, Kevin R. Wurm of Monroeville, Indiana, son, Brian K. (Lynn) Wurm of Monroeville, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Richard (Sheryl L.) Ahlersmeyer of Tucson, Arizona, daughter, Mrs. Kim (Jacqueline J.) Ruble of Monroeville, Indiana, brother, Donald W. Wurm of Colorado Springs, Colorado, brother, Victor U. Wurm of Monroeville, Indiana, sister, Katherine "Kay" Hassely of West Lake, Ohio, sister, Mrs. Al (Marilyn) Molargik of Garrett, Indiana, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild. Vincent was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosemarie Wurm (age 15), Carolyn Wurm (6 mos.); two brothers, Paul and Charles Wurm; and one grandson, Bradley Wurm (2 years old). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006 in the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Monroeville, Indiana with the Rev. William H. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Military Graveside Services will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW Posts. Friends will be received from 12:00 NOON to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
