Virginia Janes, 74 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 6:12 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur, Indiana following an extended illness. Virginia was born on Thursday, July 16, 1931 in Glasgow, Kentucky the daughter of the late Robert B. Settles and the late Mary (Hutchison) Settles. She married the late Dalmas Janes on December 18, 1947 and he passed away on October 18, 1995. Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur, Indiana and the Moose Lodge #1311. Virginia was a homemaker and a nurse's aid at Adams County Memorial Hospital in the 1950's. Surviving are her son, Wayne Janes of Howe, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Jim (Pam) Clem of Decatur, Indiana, sister, LaVerne Thomas of Decatur, Indiana, sister, LaVada Furlong of Glasgow, Kentucky, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by one brother, Jackie Campbell and one great-granddaughter, Azaria Feaser. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with the Rev. Whitney West officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana, and from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Adams County Community Foundation-Cancer Fund or the SIDS Center of Indiana.
