Carrie M. Sipe, 94 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2008 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur, Indiana. She was a longtime area resident. Carrie was born on Monday, November 10, 1913 in Mercer County, Ohio the daughter of the late Wilbur M. Smalley and the late Adah M. (Alspaugh) Smalley. She married the late Lester K. Sipe on June 11, 1932 in Celina, Ohio and he passed away on December 24, 1974. Carrie attended the Decatur Church of God. Carrie was a member of the Friendship Home Economic Club. Carrie was on the Executive Commmitee for the Adams County 4-H Fair and was a 4-H leader for many years. She was also a homemaker. Surviving are her daughter, Deanna Dennis of Carlsbad, California, son, James Sipe of Fishers, Indiana, son, Larry Sipe of Midland, Michigan, brother, Tom Smalley of Celina, Ohio, brother, David Smalley of Rockford, Ohio, ten grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Carrie in death were one son, William Sipe; one brother, Carl (Jake) Sipe; and one sister, Bessie Hoffhines. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana with the Dr. Robert Brink officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, Ohio. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana.
