Roger D. Klinker, 82 years old of Woodburn, Indiana, passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at his residence. Roger was born on Monday, July 20, 1925 in Edgerton, Indiana, the son of the late Harry Klinker and the late Esther (Downs) Klinker. He married Barbara A. Barker on June 5, 1981 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and she survives. Roger was a 1943 graduate of Monroeville High School and was a member of the U.A.W. Local #57. Roger was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered for his warm smile, his generosity, his willingness to always offer help to anyone, and his special bond with family, friends, and co-workers. Roger was a welder and mechanic at International Harvester in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, retiring in 1981 with 38 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Barbara A. Klinker of Woodburn, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Bill (Deborah L.) Eidson of Monroeville, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Randy (Angela F.) Sommer of Monroeville, Indiana, step-son, Mark A. (Carol) Foster of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, step-daughter, Mrs. Karl (Cheryl L.) Hull of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Pete (Halice) Grabner of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, brother, Major (Pauline) Klinker of Payne, Ohio, granddaugters, Miranda Wrobel, Erin Moffett, grandsons, Jared Sommer, Kyle Sommer, step-grandchildren, Matt Foster, Greg Foster, Kurtis Foster, Shane Hull, and step-grandchildren, Cole Foster, and Bristol Hull. Preceding Roger in death was one brother, Darrell Klinker. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana with the Rev. Ralph Klinker officiating. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Odd Fellows Cemetery, New Haven, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne, Indiana; Alzheimer's Association or the Cancer Services of Allen County.
