Laura O. Kahn, 71 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 5:47 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2006 in the Chalet Village located in Berne, Indiana. Laura was born on September 29, 1934 in Ohio City, Ohio the daughter of the late Joseph Germann and the late Esther (Grote) Germann. She married William H. Kahn Sr. on July 4, 1949 in Celina, Ohio and he survives. Laura was a homemaker. Surviving are his husband, William H. Kahn Sr. of Decatur, Indiana, son, Robert L. (Jana) Shaffer of Geneva, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Michael (Diana) Tewell of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Helen) Cooper of Van Wert, Ohio, son, Greg A. (Martha) Shaffer of Geneva, Indiana, son, William H. Kahn Jr. of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, son, Larry T. Kahn of Muncie, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Alan (Nancy) Colwell of Decatur, Indiana, son, Jack Kahn of Decatur, Indiana, son, Charles W. (Penny) Kahn of Monroe, Indiana, sister, Mabel Prichard of Van Wert, Ohio, sister, Mrs. Chuck (Norma) Zizelman of Rockford, Ohio, sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Alice) Smith of Celina, Ohio, brother, Paul (Yvonne) Germann of St. Mary's, Ohio, brother, Howard (Marvalee) Germann of St. Mary's, Ohio, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. Laura was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Kahn and Terry Kahn; four brothers, Elmer, Art, Lester "Pete", and Herb Germann; and four sisters, Agnes Teboe, Mildred Germann, Ireta Grace, and Helen Searight. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana with the Rev. Ray Bell officiating. Interment will follow in the Ray Cemetery, rural Monroe, Indiana. Friends will be received from 12:00 NOON - 3 p.m. and from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana; and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Preferred memorials are to the Adams County Community Foundation-Diabetes Fund or Kidney Fund.
