Patricia JoAnne "Anne" Oberley, 79 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 7:28 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011 in the Select Specialty Hospital located in Ft. Wayne, Indiana surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born on Wednesday, November 11, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late William Copas and the late Emma (Harris) Copas. She married the late Wilbur "Pete" J. Oberley on July 13, 1957 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and he passed away on March 13, 2007. Patricia was a member of the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church and the Rosary Society of the church. She was a graduate of Hoagland High School Class of 1949. She volunteered at the St. Louis Academy Library and at the Women's Care Center in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Patricia retired from Do It Best Corp. as a receptionist and was also a homemaker. Surviving are her son, John W. (Sandy) Oberley of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Linda L. (Shawn) McArdle of Spencerville, Indiana; son, Paul A. Oberley of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Susan E. (Michael) Nygra of Brownsburg, Indiana; son, Brian J. (Ann) Oberley of Monroeville, Indiana; eleven grandchildren: Lydia, Elyse, Will, & Sophia Oberley; Ryan, Andrew, & Aaron McArdle; Rebecca, Alicia, Elena, & Evan Nygra. Preceding Patricia in death was one brother, Richard Copas. A 9:20 a.m. Prayer Service will be held Monday, March 21, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church-New Haven with Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2011 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. A vigil service will also be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday also at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are Masses to the church; St. Louis Besancon Building Fund or St. Louis Academy.
