Robert V. Beery, 93 years old, a lifelong resident of Adams County, Indiana passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2006 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur, Indiana. Robert was born on April 16, 1913 in Kirkland Township, Adams County, Indiana the son of the late Harve M. Beery and the late Susie M. (Bright) Beery. He married Helen F. Hildebrand on January 1, 1936 and she survives. Robert formerly attended Salem United Church of Christ, Magley where he had been an Elder and a Deacon. Robert was a former member of Wire Association of America and served on the Suppliers Advisory Commission for 15 years. Robert retired in 1979 after 35 years of service at Indiana Wire & Die where he had been the general manager for 15 years. Surviving are his wife, Helen F. Beery of Decatur, Indiana, son, David A. (Ingid) Beery of Bloomington, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Larry (Dorene) Rodocker of Carmel by the Sea, California, daughter, Mrs. Ron (Ruth Ann) Harris of Anderson, Indiana, daughter, Mrs. Robert (Susan) Stewart of Indianapolis, Indiana, eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. Preceding Robert in death were two sisters, Helen Mann & Beula Shackley; and two brothers, Marvin & Richard Beery. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006 in the Woodcrest Chapel with Chaplain John Follett officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem U.C.C. Cemetery, Magley, Indiana. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2006 in the Woodcrest Chapel also 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
