Betty J. Patrick, 84 years old of Monroe, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Swiss Village located in Berne, Indiana. She was born on Tuesday, March 1, 1927 in Pickerell Town, Ohio the daughter of the late Clark B. Price and the late Sylvia M. (Jacobs) Price. She married George H. Patrick on January 21, 1945 in Van Wert, Ohio. Betty was a member of the Friends Church of Monroe, Indiana where she served as the clerk for twenty-seven years. She had also attended the Park United Brethren Church in Bluffton, Indiana. She was a homemaker and had worked as an aide in Flint, Michigan at the Crows Haven Nursing Home. Surviving are her husband, George H. Patrick of Monroe, daughter, Dianne (Norman) Glass of Berne, son, Tom (Colleen) Patrick of Ossian, son, Jim (Jill) Patrick of Monroe, daughter, Judy Schaper of Columbia City, daughter, Gloria (Ron) Monnot of Ossian, daughter, Linda Patrick (Jeff Ward of Rochester, NY) of Monroe, sister, Miriam (Dave) Welsh of Tacoma, Washington, sister, Esther (Gerald) Thatcher of Van Wert, Ohio, sister-in-law, Violet Price of Rochester, New York, twelve grandchildren; Rachelle Eisenmann, Mark Patrick, Jeni Tiedge, Heather Frank, Nicholas Bryan, Jodie Patrick, Deva Betts, Nathan York, Kimberly Brune, Kelsi Fiechter, Darren Patrick & Ty Preston and thirteen great-grandchildren; Brooke Tiedge, Logan Staples, Lydia Eisenmann, Eliza Eisenmann, Kyle Patrick, Alex Staples, Cole Patrick, Alyssa Bryan, Luke Tiedge, Gracie York, Miranda Betts, Hailey Brune & Zachary Frank. Preceding Betty in death were one sister, Mildred Jones and one brother, Philip Price. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2011 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur with Pastor John Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Ray Cemetery, Monroe, Indiana. Friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3 in the Swiss Village Chapel in Berne and from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. & 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 4 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Park United Brethren Church in Bluffton, Family LifeCare in Berne, Gideon Bibles or to Swiss Village.
