Reid B. Sprague, 85 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center. He was born on Monday, September 3, 1923 in Indianapolis, Indiana the son of Reid B. Sprague and Sarah J. (Hawkins) Sprague. He married Margaret E. Moats on December 25, 1943 in Nashville, Tennessee and she passed away on March 17, 2005. Reid served in the United States Army Air Corp. during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #43 and formerly attended the United Brethren in Christ Church which is now Cornerstone Community Church. He retired on December 31, 1987 as a production engineer at CTS with 23 years of service. Survivors include his son, Reid B. Sprague III of Hollywood, Maryland, daughter, Ann E. (Ted) Wenning of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Maggie Sprague of Seattle, Washington, brother, John c. Sprague of Stevensville, Michigan, three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Preceding Reid in death were one son, Paul H. Sprague and one granddaughter, Sara M. Wenning. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor John Follett officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery with Military Graveside Services to be conducted by the American Legion Post #43. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 7 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Adams County Community Foundation - Oncology Facility.
