Mary M. Braun, 94 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 12:10 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur. She had been stricken at her residence yesterday Morning and her death was unexpected. Mary was born on Thursday, July 1, 1915 in Adams County, Indiana, the daughter of the late William E. Faurote and the late Mary C. (Appleman) Faurote. She married the late Herman L. Braun on August 2, 1939 in St. Mary's Catholic Church and he passed away on January 30, 2001. Mary was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur; the Rosary Society; and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. Mary retired in 1976 from the West End after 30 years of service and was also a homemaker. Surviving are her son, Ronald L. Braun of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Karen (Gerald) Loshe of Bluffton, Indiana; daughter, Barbara Gase of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Rosie (James) Hill of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Lois (Kim) Fisher of Monroe, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Preceding Mary in death were four sisters, and six brothers, one son-in-law, Larry Gase; and one daughter-in-law, Jackie Braun. A Prayer Service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Dave Voors; and Father benedict Kakwezi officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur, Friends will be received from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana with a Rosary Service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are Masses to the church.
