Richard A. "Dick" Martin, 71 years old of New Haven, Indiana, passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at his residence following an illness of 2 years. Dick was born on Tuesday, March 15, 1938 in Allen County, Indiana the son of the late Honora L. Martin and the late Ursula C. (Hoffman) Martin. He married Rita M. Brames on August 3, 1957 in St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church and she survives. They had celebrated their 52nd anniversary last August. Dick was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana; and Sons of the Legion Post 420 in Monroeville. He enjoyed antique tractors, gardening, and his grandchildren. Dick worked in the parts department of International Harvester retiring in 1986 after 30 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Rita M. Martin of New Haven, Indiana; daughter, Jean (Kevin) Fick of Monroeville, Indiana; son, James A. (Linda) Martin of Monroeville, Indiana; son, Jerold A. (Becky) Martin of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Rita A. Reuille of Monroeville, Indiana; brother, Howard L. Martin of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Robert J. Martin of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and six grandchildren. Preceding Dick in death was one sister, Geraldine B. Dager. A Prayer Service will be held at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burials in the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville with Father Stephen Colchin officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2010 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. A Rosary Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday. Preferred memorials are Masses to the church or Parkview Hospice.
