Mary Jane Dornseif, 83 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 6:55 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2008 in the Village of Heritage Nusing Center located in Monroeville. She was a resident of the Monroeville area since 1960. She was born on Saturday, September 6, 1924 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana the daughter of the late Lauren W. Gregg Sr. and the late Gladys E. (Holloway) Gregg. She married the late Louis B. Dornseif Sr. on May 24, 1958 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and he passed away on March 24, 1990. Mary was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock in rural Monroeville, Indiana; American Legion Auxillary Unit 420 in Monroeville; and the Hoagland Area Advancement Association. Mary was a graduate of International Business College. Mary was a secretary for the Chief Engineer of Weather Head Corp; a secretary to the president of A.H. Perfect Co; and a secretary for the attorney James Grossman. Surviving are her son, Louis B. (Ellen) Dornseif Jr. of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Mrs. Greg (Elaine) Bailey of Huntington, Indiana; daughter, Mrs. Tony (Elizabeth) Schmid of Huntington, Indiana; daughter, Mrs. Greg (Laurel L.) Derickson of Hoagland, Indiana; brother, Lauren W. Gregg Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee; sister, Elaine E. Mullendore of Florida; sixteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Preceding Mary in death was one daughter, Judith Dornseif in 1975. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana with Pastor Douglas Christian officiating. There will be no visitation. Preferred memorials are to the Angel Fund at the Village of Heritage or to Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
