Elvira M. Habegger, 86 years old of Ft.Wayne, Indiana, passed away at 5:25 a.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 in the Parkview Hospital located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, following a brief illness. Elvira was born on Thursday, May 12, 1921 in Allen County, Indiana the daughter of the late Harley W. Ward and the late Amanda E. (Neuenschwander) Ward. She married the late Glenn B. Habegger on November 9, 1944 in Decatur, Indiana and he passed away on November 5, 2001. They had been married for 57 years. Elvira was a member of Grace Point Church of the Nazarene in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and was a charter member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Decatur, Indiana. She was homemaker and had also worked for Anspaugh Studio in Decatur, Indiana for 13 years. Surviving are her three sons, Ronald G. Habegger of Crete, Illinois, Leon P. Habegger of Newark, Ohio, & Farrel B. Habegger of Grabill, Indiana, two brothers, Rev. Roger Ward of Nashport, Ohio & Norman Ward of Decatur, Indiana, two sisters, June Diehl of Decatur, Indiana & Mrs. Harry (Joyce) Moser of Wren, Ohio, six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Preceding Elvira in death was one sister, Norma Ward. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2007 in the Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, Fort Wayne, Indiana with the Rev. Chuck Sunberg officiating. Interment will follow in the M.R.E. Cemetery, Berne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2007 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Preferred memorials are to Missionary Department of the Church of the Nazarene.
