Jane M. Anderson, 85 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2008 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur, Indiana. She was born on Sunday, May 14, 1922 in New Albany, Indiana the daughter of the late Harry McDonald and the late Julia (Doring) McDonald. Jane was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, The Mary Martha Circle of the church and an honorary Psi-Iota-Xi. She retired from Northwest Public Schools and also the Decatur Public Library. Surviving are her son, David Anderson of Far Hills, New Jersey, daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Julia) Rich of Lake Oswego, Oregon, eight grandchildren, and her dear friend and caregiver for the past several years Joan Fortman of Decatur. Preceding Jane in death were her son, Richard Anderson, brother, Stuart McDonald and sister, Marian Hughes. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to First Presbyterian Church or the Adams County Community Foundation-Cancer Fund.
