Max E. Myers, 70 years old, a lifelong resident of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 8:27 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2006 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Max was born on February 11, 1935 in Monroeville, Indiana the son of the late Ralph H. Myers and the late Miriam (Meese) Myers. He married Shirley M. Spieth on August 7, 1954 in the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Monroeville. Max was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Monroeville; Sons of the American Legion Post 420 in Monroeville; and had been active in Little League, where he umpired for many years. Max retired in 1996 from Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne, Indiana after 41 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Shirley M. Myers of Monroeville, Indiana, daughter, Karen A. Myers of Monroeville, Indiana, son, Jesse L. (Brenda) Myers of Auburn, Indiana, son, Ritchie A. Myers of Burleson, Texas, son, Kash E. Myers of Monroeville, Indiana, son, Ty W. (Kim) Myers of New Haven, Indiana, sister, Phyllis Chausse of Monroeville, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Ed (Harriet A.) Beucher of Monroeville, Indiana, sister, Mrs. Jack (Kay Y.) Weddle of Nashville, Indiana, brother, Ralph J. Myers of Monroeville, Indiana, seven grandchildren: Ryan, Jacob, Tabitha, Justin, LaLinda, Amanda, and Mazie; and two great-grandchildren: Drayton and Noah. Max was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Jed Myers; and one sister, Jean Justice. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2006 in the St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2006 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Preferred memorials are to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Monroeville; Monroeville EMS; or Monroeville Youth Little League.
