Barbara J. Krueckeberg, 74 years old of Decatur, Indiana and formerly of Bradenton, Florida, passed away at 2:41 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at her residence. Barbara was born on Wednesday, July 25, 1934 in Decatur, Indiana the daughter of the late Vaughn Hilyard and the late Margaret (Kitson) Hilyard. She married the late Herbert D. Krueckeberg on December 13, 1963 in Convoy, Ohio and he passed away on November 12, 2006. Barbara was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur, Indiana. Barbara was a graduate of Decatur High School Class of 1952 and was a homemaker. She was formerly employed by W & D and also at the 11th Frame at Villa Lanes. Surviving are her son, Brain (Marilyn) Andrews of Decatur, Indiana, son, David (Julie Jackson) Andrews of Anchorage, Alaska, son, Frederick (Kristen) Krueckeberg of Toledo, Ohio, son, Thomas (Lisa) Krueckeberg of Decatur, Indiana, daughter, Stephania (Charles) Cook of Decatur, Indiana, sister, Gwen Mies of Decatur, Indiana, five grandchildren: Christopher Cook, Sgt. Kyle (Rachel) Andrews, Katelyn Krueckeberg, Matthew Krueckeberg, and Daniel Krueckeberg. Preceding Barbara in death was one grandson, Nicholas Andrews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 in the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Phil Phifer officiating. Interment will be in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from two hours prior to the service at the church. Preferred memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church or the Kitson-Hilyard Foundation through the Adams County Community Foundation.
